IJC Commissioners urged to overrule ‘do-nothing” study on St. Clair River
Georgian Bay Forever is raising the alarm about unexpected increases to the outflow of Lake Huron into the st. Clair River. The implications of a continuing drain from Lake Huron on the lake, its wetlands and islands, its native species and recreational facilities are ominous. Georgian Bay Forever is urging citizens to attend consultation meetings being held by the International Joint Commission (locally, there is a meeting tomorrow March 22 at 7 p.m. at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre, Community Hall A, 527 Len Self Boulevard, Midland.)
Georgian Bay Forever news release

I went to the meeting in Midland which was attended by lots of people who confirmed that Georgian Bay is in big trouble because of the low water levels. It’s incredible that the IJC has so far not done anything to rectify this situation by controlling the water flow through the St Clair River. Hopefully, after hearing all the horror stories from people, they will finally do something about it..and soon!
The Niagara Region has to be my most favorite vacation destination. Each time I visit I discover new things that I fall in love with.
